This trip is the result of buying 3 lots at the silent auction of the Danny Klimas' Drive for the Cure Golf Tournament which raised $107,000 this year for MUHC Cancer Research. We actually bought 2 of those lots at last year's tournament which were supposed to expire at the end of June of this year but because of the spring floods we weren't able to use them in in time. Thanks to Eric Lamarre of ClubLink he allowed us to extend these certificates until August we were able to combine the 5 green fees and 2 one night stays at ClubLink resorts into a mini golf tour of 5 beautiful ClubLink Courses. Thanks also to Eric for booking our times well in advance so that we could book our accommodations accordingly. Ron Potter, Les Brault and I had to find a fourth person to join us on our tour, so we will be joined by Mike Carpini who managed to delay other travel plans in order to join us.

Below is a map of the 5 courses we will be playing as well as the 2 ClubLink resorts where we will be spending 2 of the 4 nights. The Rocky Crest Resort and the Sherwood Inn both situated on opposite ends of Lake Joseph in the Muskokas.

Below is the itinerary.

Monday August 7th - Wyndance Golf Club - Tee-Off 1:28pm

We leave Two-Mountains for the 5 hour drive to Wyndance golf club.

Wyndance Golf Club in Uxbridge, Ontario, holds the distinction of being the first course in Canada designed by the legendary Greg Norman. Norman, a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, crafted a masterful routing through and around a former sand and gravel pit to create a breathtaking masterpiece. As a result, Wyndance Golf Club was named runner-up by Golf Digest as best new course in Canada in 2008.

After the round, we are staying in two rooms at the Holiday Inn Express Newmarket which is 30 minutes away.

Tuesday August 8th - King's Riding Golf Club - Tee-off 10:18am

After the included breakfast at the HIE, we drive to King's Riding Golf Club (15 minute drive).

King's Riding: With the elegance inferred by its regal name and the natural beauty of neighbouring horse farms, King’s Riding nicely brings Scottish-flavoured golf to the urban northern boundary of Toronto.

After the round, we drive to Rocky Crest Resort which is supposed to be a 1:45 minute/169km drive however there are currently 5 known construction zones on the way so we won't count on a fast drive. We are staying in a condo that sleeps 4 people in the resort.

Wednesday August 9th - Rocky Crest Golf Course - Tee-off 11:15am

The drive to the course is only 2 minutes but we will have to check out before leaving for the course.

Rocky Crest Golf Club celebrates the natural features of the Canadian Shield in Ontario’s Muskoka region and was designed by Thomas McBroom. The seamless routing, views, marshes and abundant wildlife enhance a memorable golf course that has received rave reviews since it opened in May 2000.
In 2016, Golfweek Magazine ranked Rocky Crest as the 4th Best Modern Golf Course in Canada!

After the round, we drive to Bracebridge to stay at the elegant Wellington Inn. A 45 minute/55 km drive through the winding roads of Muskoka. We had to drive there because there was no availability at either ClubLink Resorts.

Thursday August 10th - Lake Joseph Golf Club - Tee-off 7:59am

In the morning, we drive to the Lake Joseph Club which is a 30 minute/33 km drive.

When it opened in 1997, The Lake Joseph Club caused jaws to drop around the golf world. Architect Thomas McBroom utilized the granite crags, towering trees and heaving topography of the incomparable Muskoka vacation region north of Toronto with such success that the course was named the best new course in the country by Golf Digest.

We then drive the for 12 minutes to the Sherwood Inn where we will enjoy a fine dinner and rest in two rooms at the Maplewood portion of the inn. The inn and clubhouse are actually 1 kilometre apart as you can see by the map, there are no straight roads in the lake area.

Friday August 11th - Grandview Golf Club - Tee-off 7:17am

We will have to leave early for this one as Grandview is one hour (64km) from the Sherwood Inn.

Co-designed by PGA Tour veteran Mark O’Meara (1998 Masters and British Open champion) and renowned course architect Brit Stenson, the Mark O’Meara Course at Grandview opened in 2001. The course is aptly named as it exudes grandness from the moment you arrive.

We should be finished around 11:30 and we will back to Two Mountains, which is about a 6 hour drive unless we stop at the Wilno Tavern for lunch.
