Mandarin Duck

(Aix galericulata)

These great pictures were taken by Brian Spence.

Scroll down for directions on how to get there.

It's pretty easy to get there and it's probably a place you didn't even know existed.

Take St-Laurent street in Ste-Eustache.
Go east until you get to 45th avenue.
After 45th there will be a street called Cousineau (take a right - go south).
Go to the end of that street and take a right into the parking lot of the little park.
The duck should either be alone near the parking lot
or if someone is feeding the Mallards off the pedestrian bridge,
you will see the Mandarin compete (aggressively) for the food.
He tends to stay on the opposite shore (south) because of the people on the north.
