Round Two  - La Costa South Course, Carlsbad, CA

8:28 Tee-off - We finally found the golf course. Our GPS sheet brought us to a dead-end about 1/2 mile form the entrance. We were almost late.

In a nutshell today can just be called a miserable day. It rained for the last 17 holes and it got cold. At first it was drizzle but by the turn (after 9 holes for those who don't know what the turn means), it was raining. At the end, we were drenched. We could have played another 18 but no way! I would compare this day to the Tartan tournament day last year.

As you can see we were supposed to play the North course but they put us out on the South course. We played with Bob, a Canadian guy from Kitchener. He was playing for two days before a Monday meeting. By the 11th hole all the grips were wet and it was too cold to go in the bag to get my rain gloves. That will explain the bad scores.

The Resort at La Costa is nice but the golf course seems to have lost all its past glory. This is the first year it doesn't host the Accenture match play. I don't think it will ever host another major tournament. I am really glad that this wasn't our last round because it would have been a lousy way to finish. Tomorrow morning we head for Palm Springs with better and warmer weather.

I didn't take one picture during the round beause I didn't want to get my camera wet. We did have a Bud at the La Costa bar. 2 regular Budweiser bottles $15 with tip. The lunch at Wendy's was cheaper. We decided not to eat at La Costa. Under the picture is the final tally at the casino for Ron and I.

Final tally in the Casino (unless we go back after supper) Friday +90 / Saturday - $175 / Sunday + 125 = Total + $40 - a minor miracle. The only problem there is that we have to go to supper and we have to walk through the Casino.

We did it! we lost our $40. That means after 3 days living in a casino, we are coming out even. We aren't going back downstairs........

Tomorrow, off to Palm Springs.......
